ARTHUR WASKOW: If Messiah is to be made possible, then the tradition itself says that what is most frightening to the tradition must be lifted into consciousness, faced-and redeemed. And the redemptive process cannot be left until the end of days: it must be happening along the way.

Associates for Scriptural Knowledge: The Dead Sea was once "The Lake of the Fire," and it is destined again to become that same "Lake of Fire" at the time of Christ's second advent. The Dead Sea east of Jerusalem is the Lake of Fire mentioned in the Book of Revelation. Note this: All the streams of Edom flow into the Dead Sea. Since the streams of Edom (which are in the same general region) will become burning pitch, and fire and brimstone will rain down on the heathen at the great shaking against Gog and his forces (Ezekiel 38:19–22), there will be a great conflagration from heaven around the Dead Sea. Christ said there will also be darkness over Jerusalem (Matthew 24:29; 2 Thesalonians 1:7–8). It is primarily the smoke that comes from the re-igniting of the Dead Sea that causes the sun, moon, and stars to be darkened. The prophecies actually consign the whole of the rift valley east and south of Jerusalem to a fiery judgment. And thankfully, the Bible teaches that all of God's people will be able to escape (as did Lot) this wrath of God's vengeance to come (1 Thessalonians 5:9).

Joshua Maroof: The Rabbis of the Talmud and Midrash, followed by Rashi and Radaq, maintain that Psalm 119 was composed by King David.

ANNA FELICIA BAJO: Based on prophecy, Balais holds that the Philippines must become a "nation of Davids"—moral people who love righteousness—as a prerequisite for God to raise up an equally righteous, moral, and God-fearing president. Balais, who helped birth IFP and CLSF also in the 1980s, equally foresees that the raising of a "nation of Davids is for the long-term." The 69-year-old bishop adds, "Hopefully, we shall still be alive when that happens."

SETH J. FRANTZMAN: Today, it seems, we have come full circle. The IDF is back in Gaza, and what happens in Netzarim could determine the course of the war. Why? This area links Israel to the sea and it is where the US-built pier is also located, on the Mediterranean side. Israel is now re-learning what it means to be in Gaza for the long term.

Where She Goes, I Will Go

Born in Villasis, Philippines I went from San Francisco, CA,
Which is the Sister City of Haifa allotted to Asher, to N.Y.C.,
Which is the Sister City of Tel Aviv allotted to Dan;

And then to the Town of Ramapo,
Which is the Sister City of Beit Shemesh,
To Tampa, Florida, which is the Sister
City of Ashdod both allotted to Judah.

Where the Roses I planted grow wild as Horses,
From figurative Egypt and Sodom to Jerusalem,
Where the Bronze Serpent was lifted up I will go.

Where you rest, I will rest in the Township of Washington,
Which is near Zarephath, New Jersey, named after an Asherite City.
From working as the Registered Nurse of New Square's Rebbetzin,
I will be remembered just like Rebecca's Nurse Deborah.

"ONLY BEGOTTEN SON"

HAROLD KUSHNER: Our mind and conscience are the dimension we share with God. Jews worship God through study.

BOAZ MICHAEL: What do you think of when you hear the word "worship"? Singing? Dancing? Raising hands? Bowing, kneeling, or lying prostrate? We all know better—we know that there is more to worship than outwardly expressing emotions toward God. The sages inform us that one way we can worship God is through learning.

RUTH LANGER: Later Jewish communities and their leaders continually refined the details of the system they inherited to reflect their changing understandings of acceptable, meaningful, and constructive worship. These understandings have in turn been shaped not only by liturgical halakhah and active custom, but by new intellectual and social currents and by the vicissitudes of Jewish history.
LIEL LEIBOVITZ: We want them to become neighbors who care for the needy next door. We want them to become children who care for their parents as they age.

SHMUEL RABINOWITZ: Is it even conceivable that man can imitate God? The Torah answers this unequivocally. Yes. Man can, and is even obligated to, follow in the path of God.

Brad Wilcox and Sam Richardson: Finally, the rising fortunes of Orthodox Judaism also suggest lessons for other Abrahamic traditions that would like to see their fortunes sustained in the 21st century. Beyond attending services, focus on family devotions, plug into your own faith's religious media and music, and make regular pilgrimages to places that are meaningful for your tradition. Such steps are likely to protect you, your children and your community from the secular currents eroding the faith of many faithful young adults today.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church: Jesus Christ was Mary's only child.

Glenn Sunshine and Jerry Trousdale with Greg Benoi: Members of Discovery Groups are also encouraged to tell others about what they are learning. So, even before they come to faith, they are discipled into sharing what they are learning about God. As a result, when they do come to faith, it is the most natural thing in the world to them to share it with others, to start new Discover Groups, and even to found simple churches.

DEBRA R. BLANK: upon examination, a boy's vows even from the age of 12 and one day will be accepted.
Nathan Heller: According to the Harvard Crimson, which conducts an annual survey, more than sixty per cent of the members of the class of 2020 planning to enter the workforce were going into tech, finance, or consulting.
MITCHEL MALKUS: Steinhardt proposes that day school curriculum better balance Jewish and secular education.

Matan Shor: Nearly 30% of Israel’s GDP comes from the high-tech industry, with STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) subjects being the sole focus of Israel's education system in the past few years. As a result, the humanities subjects (Literature, history, art, and philosophy) have been sentenced to a slow and painful death. Israel is heading toward a future when calculation and computation will be the only thing the children learn.
Shira Kadari-Ovadia: Figures relating to Israeli matriculation exams, or bagrut, show a dramatic rise in the number of students registering to be tested in science, technology, engineering and math subjects, along with a drop in the number taking exams in the humanities, which never were that popular to begin with.

The mirror image of these changes is the drop in the number of students matriculating in humanistic subjects. There is a constant erosion in these subjects, with a possible projected cancellation of mandatory matriculation exams in literature, history, bible studies and civics. The number of students taking the highest-level literature exam has dropped by a third since 2010, and by one fourth in history.

Response: Basically, I encourage my nephew to keep drawing and help him with his homework. I also play Christian Radio in our commutes back and forth from school. His Parents and I have taken him to Christian Hip-Hop Concerts and Church on Sundays. We pray over Meals. Christmas season is a special time for us. I think, consistency is key for transmission. I understand that being an Uncle is a Biblical Mandate (David's Uncle Jonathan). I keep an online journal as he matures. He's all ready a TikTok Evangelist and has accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He just has to be baptized in Water and Fire. I believe, the Alpha Generation is very Prophetic. LIEL LEIBOVITZ: We want them to become neighbors who care for the needy next door. We want them to become children who care for their parents as they age.

Lauren C. Moye: 53% of Millennials believe that Jesus wasn't truly God. This includes 43% of professing evangelical Christians.

JONATHAN WARREN PAGÁN: Advent hope is preeminently about hope for the return of Jesus. Even now, in the Advent liturgies of the Anglican, Roman Catholic, and Orthodox churches, the prayers and Scripture readings have a laser-like focus on the judgment of Christ that is to come.

C. S. Lewis Institute: secular institutions of our culture today will not, and generally cannot, transmit Christianity
RACHEL GILINSKI: To keep Judaism alive, it's not enough to learn it for yourself. You must pass it down as well.

Ben Burton: At the beginning of Parashat Vayeshev, Yosef is described as a na'ar. "A youth" — (Gen. 37:2) "and he was a youth" — Four individuals were given the appellation 'youth': Yosef, Joshua, Metat-ron, and David."

Aryeh Kaplan: The final Messiah will be a normal human being, born of human parents. Similarly, the Messiah will be mortal. He will eventually die and bequeath his kingdom to his son or his successor.
